Please do not confuse moissanite with a diamond. Diamonds are pure carbon whilst moissanite is a silicon carbide and diamonds are slightly harder than moissanite. Moissanite ranks 9.25 on the Mohs scale, so very hardy indeed while diamonds rank 10. While diamonds are slightly harder, moissanite has more fire and brilliance. As diamonds, moissanites have a similarly high heat conductivity, hence test as a diamond.
