Such a beautiful ring set with an emerald mined from Mother Earth in Zambia. The Zambian emerald deposits are some of the finest emeralds and are now demanding some of the highest prices throughout the industry. The emerald’s colour is a vivid green with an inner glow and measures 7mm x 5mm with a weight just short of a carat at 0.97 points, so not a tiny gemstone! Generally, only premium quality gemstones are selected to be cut into the octagon shape as this cut will display every tiny inclusion and we must say, considering emeralds are a type III gemstone where inclusions are acceptable, this emerald has a great transparency. Although the emerald is natural, it has received some oil to the surface to enhance its lustre, this is a perfectly acceptable practice within the gemstone industry. To add that touch more luxury and style to the design, genuine Cambodian mined baguette shaped white zircon have been set into the shoulders. Please do not confuse zircon with the man made cubic zirconia, zircon is a natural gemstone, one of the oldest known to Mankind with the brilliance of a diamond.
